The United Nations has declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (#IYQ25). In support of this initiative, SC Quantum developed the International Quantum Circuit (#IQC25) with partner organizations to raise quantum technology's profile and build community around this emerging field.

The Annual NYUAD International Hackathon is a three-day programming marathon, during which renowned international computer science and engineering professors, founders of successful startups, technology professionals, and venture capitalists come together to NYUAD to lead teams of talented computer science students from all over the world, to create QC applications. The teams will develop innovative applications relevant to diverse fields such as health, education, sustainability, refugees, music, and science for the benefit of social good.
The goal of the NYUAD Hackathon is to promote innovation in computer science and engineering focusing on one of the most exciting topics of our time, AI and Quantum Computing. We will also explore Data Science, machine learning, security, privacy, tech startups and entrepreneurship, and the development of innovative technology for the social good. This event provides an opportunity for students to experience the full cycle of creating a tech startup (sharing and generating ideas, pitching ideas, learning new platforms and programming languages, designing and developing applications, and working with a team). Aside from learning top practices in QC, and software development, students will also get a rare opportunity to be mentored by top leaders in both industry and academia. Also, students create innovative and solution-based technology for social good, which is becoming an important goal for computer scientists worldwide, as the field is now viewed as having created revolutionary innovations in many areas. Hackathon creates opportunities for future international project collaboration, launching startups, and undertaking academic research.
