COLUMBIA, SC — SC Quantum is proud to announce a new partnership and project with the USC Center for Sales Success as they kick off their 2024 academic year.

Joe Queenan, Executive Director, SC Quantum elaborated on the impact of this important collaboration with CSS, "Education and industry partnerships are critical to the advancement of quantum talent and technology in South Carolina. We're partnering to connect practical quantum application and expertise with critical thinking to keep South Carolina at the forefront of innovation. We're thrilled to initiate a new project with University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business Center for Sales Success."

So what does Quantum computing mean for today's businesses and why is it a differentiator for students?

Quantum computing is a transformative leap from classical computing and is already in high demand across industries including banking (predictive models for finance), pharma (reduced time in drug discovery), and cybersecurity where data theft prevention is paramount.

These are just a few examples of why being fluent and well-versed in quantum gives today's students a competitive edge. South Carolina’s public universities are doubling down on their commitment to training students to be quantum-ready. In this spirit, they have funded the $15M state-wide South Carolina Quantum initiative geared towards "helping connect students with resources to build the knowledge and skills to work on a quantum supercomputer." The state is already seeing dividends from this investment. Just this past Spring, three USC students were funded and provided access to quantum computing and coaching by SC Quantum for their research project. They used these resources to successfully run simulations and solutions for retirement investment strategies in support of a South Carolina financial institution. With their knowledge of advanced analytics garnered from the experience, they competed in The Massachusetts Institute of Technology iQuHack Hackathon competition and came in third, out of 300 students.
